AIDA is a musical bursting with contemporary energy chronicling the love triangle between Aida, a Nubian princess stolen from her country, Amneris, an Egyptian princess, and Radames, the soldier they both love. AIDA is an epic tale of love, loyalty and betrayal, with an exhilarating Tony and Grammy Award-winning score by Elton John and Tim Rice.

What is AIDA Like?
Although the plot may be from an opera, the score by Elton John and Tim Rice gives a modern edge to this story of star-crossed lovers. This timeless romance draws you in with a royal love triangle and the emotional stakes are raised with two nations, Nubia and Egypt, at war. Some may even recognize Elton John’s ballad “Written in the Stars,” which was released by LeAnn Rimes in 1999.

Is AIDA Good for Kids?
Do your kids get grossed out over mushy love talk? In terms of romance, think Romeo and Juliet or West Side Story, heartfelt and sincere. Although there is talk of battle and war, all of that takes place off stage. Despite some sexual innuendo and the occasional dagger being brandished, your kids may find themselves swept up by the power of love.
